Billy Harper's campaign finance report is now in, showing him throwing $5 million of his own money into his campaign for governor. Harper's report shows he has $450,000 cash on hand for the closing weeks of the primary race, about half of what Anne Northup and Ernie Fletcher have on hand, though Harper seems more than willing to pour as much money as needed into his campaign. Harper has made some headway, since he had virtually no name recognition when the campaign began. But he continues to trail badly in the most recent independent polls. Northup has loaned her campaign $500,000 and has $980,000 cash on hand. Fletcher's report shows he has $935,000 cash on hand. The most entertaining report has been filed by democrat Otis "Bullman" Hensley. He also filed his report with the Registry of Election Finance early this wednesday morning. Hensley reports getting one contribution of $700 from Roger Thoney, who is republican who lost two races for congress. Hensley has spent it all, $200 to reimburse himself for gas and a $500 to ride a bull. You read that correctly. Hensley spent $500 of his $700 in campaign money to ride a bull. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
