The gubernatorial forum in Paducah produced a few new promises and a punch at Steve Henry from Gatewood Galbraith, according to a story on WPSD-TV and a report from a western kentucky attorney who attended. According to Ivan Potter, who attended the event at the Paducah Convention Center, Galbraith said of Henry "the democratic party can not afford to have a standardbearer in the fall who faces possible indictment." That's an obvious shot at Henry who is facing investigations of his campaign financing. According to Potter, Henry promised to held build a new port on the Mississippi River, near Paducah, if he's elected, while Jody Richards promised to open a mini Governor's office somewhere in western kentucky if he's elected. UPDATE: According to a release from Richards' campaign, he's planning to open an economic development office in the Purchase area, not a governor's office. One could argue that's almost the same thing though the economic development cabinet is semi-autonomous from the executive branch. The Paducah TV station's story is on their website 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

"Jody Richards promised to open a mini Governor's office somewhere in western kentucky if he's elected."
What a stupid idea. Jody Richards must be a desperate man. He oughta drop out and endorse the eventual winner, Jonathan Miller.
The Cabinet for ED already has a Western Kentucky office in Madisonville. I would think the Speaker of the House would, or should, know this.
