Owen and Armstrong

What's the deal with Charlie Owen and Dave Armstrong? Are they running for governor or not?

Neither man has returned my repeated phone messages over the past couple of days but here's what I know:

I talked to state Senator David Boswell (D) Owensboro, who says he talked to Owen Monday morning. According to Boswell, Owen told him he was leaning toward running for governor with Ed Hatchett as his running mate. But Owen wanted Boswell to keep his options open just in case Hatchett decides to run for another office.
Boswell says he's not sure what he'll say if Owen asks him to be part of an Owen-Boswell ticket. In Boswell's mind, far western Kentucky deserves some representation in the governor's office and he doesn't think any of the current candidates fit the bill. That includes Jody Richards who's from Bowling Green and Steve Henry who was raised in Owensboro. Hatchett couldn't be reached.

As for Armstrong, some folks close to him say he's made the decision not to run for governor. But I haven't got that confirmed and he's still got almost 24 hours until the filing deadline.
