Unsuccessful congressional candidate Mike Weaver is apparently ready to try and win another job in state government. Weaver tells me "in all probability" he will file to run for state treasurer on monday. The former state representative from Radcliff gave up his seat to run for congress, losing to 2nd District congressman Ron Lewis last November. Weaver says the managerial skills he learned in the military and his reputation for honesty and integrity would make the treasurer's job a perfect fit. Meanwhile, Greg Stumbo's decision to seek the state's number two job (Lt. Gov.) has suddenly opened a door for Jack Conway, a door he assumed was closed. |
