State Rep. Tom Burch of Louisville says Richards told him "he's runnin'" with John Y. Brown III as his running mate. Burch says Richards plans to announce his candidacy on Tuesday. That announcement has since been moved to Wednesday in Richards' hometown of Bowling Green, according to sources. Burch's phone call from the house speaker was similar to calls received by another state representative who didn't want to be identified.

Greg Stumbo may be wavering a bit, according to Ryan Alessi of the Lexington Herald-Leader. Alessi reports that Stumbo met with State Rep. Joni Jenkins of Louisville as recently as Thursday to discuss the possibility of a Stumbo-Jenkins ticket.
Jenkins tells me Stumbo is torn on what to do. Stumbo didn't return my phone call on Thursday.

And Steve Henry has locked in a running mate, a female office holder from Fayette County. I believe it's Fayette County P.V.A. Renee True, though she refused to personally return my phone calls. And Henry says he promised his running mate he wouldn't divulge her name before Tuesday. Henry will announce his candidacy at a Louisville union hall on Tuesday, January 23.
