Armstrong's Future

Former Louisville Mayor David Armstrong says he couldn't raise enough money to compete in this year's governor's race.

That's why Armstrong opted to stay out of the race. He says it just wasn't the right time for him to jump back into politics. After years of earning a public official's salary, Armstrong says he needs to sock away some more cash from his lawyer work before considering another run for public office. Armstrong has served as Jefferson Co. judge-executive, commonwealth's attorney, attorney general and mayor. He's 65 but tells me his political career isn't over. Armstrong says "I've got another race in me, I just don't know what it is." He currently works at Greenbaum, Doll and McDonald law firm in Louisville.

Nice to have seen you yesterday, Mark. You know the talk about all the money it takes to run a campaign is a SAD commentary on how we have sunk so LOW in how we practice (our version of) Democracy.
