May Gets Christmas Bonus

Jefferson County's former P.V.A. now has two appointments courtesy of Ernie Fletcher.

John May started this week as Deputy Commissioner in the state Revenue Department. His appointment comes a month and a half after May lost his bid to stay on as Property Valuation Administrator. Gov. Fletcher had appointed him when Denise Harper-Angel won a state senate seat in 2004. Now here's the rest of the story. According to Revenue Department spokesperson Jill Midkiff, May will be paid $95,000/yr. That's about $10,000 more than he earned as P.V.A. and $10,000 more than the man who defeated him, democrat Tony Lindauer. Also, May's new post in the Revenue Department could give the ability to keep an eye on Lindauer. The Revenue Department oversees the operations of the P.V.A.s in all 120 counties. When I asked Lindauer if he was worried about May using his post to exact some sort of revenge for the campaign loss, Lindauer said "you're always concerned about retribution but I hope Mr. May is above that".

Mark, sorry to go off topic here BUT I ran across a reaction from Mark Nickolas on his blog yesterday that was very enlightening. Apparently, he is a conservative reagan republican but is too ashamed (or maybe hypocritical) to let his readers in on his secret? It was in a thread titled, "On Bruce Lunsford: Setting The Record Straight." No wonder everyone LEFT on his site sound the same, Nickolas' deletes & bans anyone with a SANE thought.

Below is what was banned & 2 followup comments (the followup comments are still on the site) ..

"For all you ... intolerant, closed-minded ... fools lacking judgment that are SO upset and undone that Lunsford is CURRENTLY backing a Republican ...

Feast your eyes on this GREAT FIND about Mark Nickolas the alleged democrat that betrayed democrats.

Courtsey of www.conservachick.com Thread titled: "Thoughts on the SPJ Panel Discussion"
Dated November 18, 2006 ... Posted at 12:05PM.
"Mark [Nickolas] even admitted, oddly enough, that he voted for Reagan in 1984. I hope I haven't outed him to his target audience! If so, then they now have a point of reference that should be educational. It pleased me immensely to find that, even though I strongly disagree with this man's political ideology, we are both fair-minded enough to do what we think is good for this country when the opportunity presents itself."

Get that, even Nickolas voted Republican when he thought Reagan/Bush were better for the country than Mondale/Ferraro. Now, in 2005 NOT 2003 Lunsford is doing the same thing that Nickolas did in 1984. Only difference is Nickolas is trying to make it appear Bruce supported Fletcher in 03 PLUS another difference is Nickolas is making a big STINK over a democrat voting republican. Is this a glass house for Nickolas?

Are you fools in here going to say the comment on Conservachick.com is a LIE?

In light of the 3:30 comment, perhaps we should all reflect on the dangers of syphillis-induced dementia. Tragic, really...

3:38 - Sorry, but I just deleted the stalking troll at 3:30. I banned the lunatic and will be deleting everything he/she writes from this moment forward. Sorry that you all have to deal with such imbiciles who offer nonthing but nonsense like this.

Interesting that Nickolas refers to FACTS as "nonsense like this." Can Nickolas not handle his own exposure?

How many more months of this can we put up with? This is yet another example of Cronyism at its best. This guy couldn't keep his nose clean in the PVA office and got booted by the voters, so let's just give him a raise and a sweetheart job in Frankfort. Fletcher and his buddies should be ashamed of themselves but they are far too busy accepting sweetheart deals and blaming others to do so.
