I've heard the same rumblings. But if you're looking for Abramson to confirm or deny that rumor, forget it. Here's his basic response....."I'm concentrating on winning this Mayor's race"....."you can't say never, but I'm concentrating on the Mayor's race"....when pressed for a clearer answer, Abramson will say, "I'm entirely focused on doing my job as Mayor and winning another term". In other words, Abramson isn't dumb enough to say he's considering running for Governor while he's seeking reelection to Mayor. That's probably not fair to voters who want to know if Abramson will get back in the Mayor's chair, only to turn around and run for Governor, distracting him from his duties in Louisville. My best guess is that Abramson won't run for Governor, though several of his aides and some Louisville business leaders are urging him to give it a shot. Winning a statewide race with the issues of "gays, guns and God" hanging over you isn't as easy as winning reelection in your hometown.
