Former State Police Commissioner Gary Rose was hoping to win a couple million dollars damages in his whistleblower lawsuit against the state of Kentucky.
Instead, he settled the case in the middle of the trial as Justice Cabinet attornies were preparing to present evidence that Rose was engaged in an extramarital affair with a co-worker while he was Commissioner.

Any thoughts of a continuing federal grand jury investigation into Ross Harris' ties to Chief Justice Joseph Lambert and his wife Debra, probably ended when Harris died June 24th.
Harris was an influential Eastern Kentucky businessman who enjoyed a little political power and influence.
Just like cloggers make lots of noise when they dance, bloggers are making lots of noise around Frankfort these days. And they have reason to. The Fletcher administration has stumbled again, while arguably, trying to do the right thing.
I don't know how many people have asked about my story detailing a meeting between Ben Chandler and Jerry Abramson which might set up a Chandler/Abramson ticket in 2007. Their first question....why would Abramson consider the No. 2 slot on any ticket?
I talked to Ben Chandler today (June 6). The main topic of discussion was his meeting with Jerry Abramson in Washington. But we also chatted about Chandler's thought process on running/not running for Governor in '07. Here are my observations:
I get the sense from talking to Kentuckians that they're upset with Steve Pence, not for refusing to run for another term with Governor Fletcher, but for refusing to resign immediately.
