I love this story. Laura Bush comes to Louisville to raise money for the Republican National Committee.....at a luncheon.....at the home of Matt Thornton.......WHO IS THE C.E.O. OF THORNTON OIL CO!!!!!! Yes, the Republicans are raising money from Big Oil on Thursday, May 11. That's the same day the price of regular unleaded gas hit $2.99 in Louisville and Frankfort. But while the Republicans were rubbing broke car owners faces in their political cash, the incompetency of the Democrats shown through. I may have missed it, but I didn't see a single news release or Democratic Party flak taking a free shot at Mrs. Bush, her husband and their party. In other words, the only thing that's changed is the politically savvy Republicans screwed up with an untimely fundraiser at the home of a rich oil company executive. But no one seemed to notice. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

Interesting to see the humor in this story Mr. Hebert. For myself there is much of this type behavior across the board from both parties.
Understanding that the Country is divided in many ways the question simply is this: If anyone stood against issues such as these, other than a traditional party person, would they receive the attention or a news release mentioning it?
On a local level I am an independent Louisville Metro Mayor candidate and do not see that equality in local reporting. I have made you and other media aware of issues I feel relevant. I also let you know my stance. Most of which is in disagreement with the current administration and with Kelly Downard who I feel is a clone of this administration. No mention, no interview, no equal time.
Simply put, if the media in general is going to ask why there is no response on issues perhaps they should ask themselves why they do not allow it outside the 2 party system. Just an observation.
As always thanks for your time.
