Governor Fletcher's line item veto of $370 million worth of projects and programs from the state budget was clearly a move to get him "back in the game". It may also have been the right thing to do and a good political move. It may have been the wrong thing to do and a horrible poltical move. Here are the arguments on both sides:

If politicians would just say "I'm sorry, I was wrong", they'd probably gain some respect from their constituents. Same goes for journalists. With that in mind, I'm saying "I'm sorry, I made a mistake" to University of Louisville Athletics Director Tom Jurich and Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson.

I know all of you political junkies heard about Greg Stumbo's ill-fated boating adventure in Florida. He took a boat out on the ocean himself then didn't return for several hours, including overnight. His wife gets worried and calls the local sheriff's office which sends out a helicopter and boats to find the missing Kentucky attorney general. They find Stumbo, his boat run aground on a sand bar.
