GOP Rising star

Louisville State Representative Scott Brinkman is being mentioned as a possible candidate for Attorney General next year. He's a rising star in Republican circles.
Brinkman has built a reputation in Frankfort as a bridge builder. He's a moderate Republican who isn't afraid to speak his mind. He's intelligent enough to maintain the respect of Democrats, who seek him out for Republican-Democrat coalitions on legislation.

Of course, the Republicans had a terrific candidate for A.G. in 2003 in State Rep. Tim Feeley of Lagrange and they weren't smart enough to vote for him in the primary. That left Jack Wood of Louisville running a hapless campaign against Greg Stumbo. Stumbo has plenty of personal baggage and could get a run for his money from Brinkman........if Brinkman runs and wins the primary.......and if Stumbo runs for reelection as Attorney General instead of seeking the Governor's Office.

Agreed. Brinkman would make an outstanding AG, and we really need one.

Mark,

I realize you're just getting things set up here, but your RSS feed isn't working yet. Returns a (HTTP Response: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found) error. If you're aware of this, never mind...

I think we have a wonderful AG right now, and though I would hate for him to leave that office, I hope he runs for Governor. I am a republican who voted for Fletcher and have been sorry ever since.

Mark, welcome to the blogosphere.

I've said a few times on Mark Nickolas' blog that we sorely needed a Louisville-centric political/news blog.

I think this blog will especially be helpful as we view in awe as Abramson experiences his first real competition for the major's job. It's gonna be fun. (Note: I tentatively support Abramson, but would prefer a good unnamed independent)

I'm looking forward to the ride.
