Louisville has enjoyed a healthy dose of Hollywood lately. Plenty of people enjoyed the area's first international film festival last weekend. Now, you have the chance to check out a major film produced by one of Kentuckiana's own-- even before people IN Hollywood can see it! Oh, and it has that guy from "Entourage" and the cheerleading coach from "Glee." "Adventures of Power" tells the story of a guy from a copper town who always wanted to grab two sticks and beat some drums. The title character didn't have the cash for real drums so he took up the cousin to air guitar-- air drumming! "Power" ends up in NewARK (not New YORK) for a big air drumming competition and the struggle ensues. You'll definitely recognize several of the actors-- Adrian Grenier from "Entourage," Jane Lynch from "Glee," Ari Gold from "Groove," Michael McKean from "This is Spinal Tap," and Shoshannah Stern from "Jericho" and "Weeds." The really cool, local part about all is that it's produced by The Group Entertainment. The film production company has one of its two offices in Louisville-- run by local entrepreneur Gill Holland. Because of that-- you can see "Adventures of Power" the same weekend as New York City. Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, and Miami will have to wait. Louisville is first in line! The movie debuts Friday night at Baxter Avenue Theater. Check out "Adventures of Power" to watch the trailer! |
