July 2009 ArchivesKelly Clarkson will be on Good Morning America this Friday for their Summer Concert Series. Kelly Clarkson will be live in Central Park and her performance will be around 8:30am. If you are not an early bird you can see her in Louisville on August 20th in Freedom Hall at 8pm.
Tonight, at 10pm "Primetime: Crime" is scheduled to report the latest in the investigation surrounding the death of Michael Jackson. The show will look into the use of drugs by celebrities and the doctors that enable their habit. After the show, tell me your thoughts and what should happen to Jackson's doctor if he allegedly gave the star all of those drugs? The Derby Film Festival will have screenings by local filmmakers, workshops, networking and some job opportunities. There's a new radio station in Louisville. It's 105.1 FM Talk. Main Line Broadcasting launched the station last week. Some of the personalities you will hear throughtout the day is Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, and Laura Ingraham. The station will get their national news from ABC. ...Will Mayor Jerry Abraham run for mayor again? There's word that he will throw his hat into the Lt. In 1984, I really wanted to see what happened to Michael Jackson during the taping of the Pepsi commercial. There were many speculations about his injury but I don't think anyone knew how serious it was but the people present at that time. I was standing in line at the grocery store waiting to be checked out. I saw a lot of magazines all remembering Michael Jackson. There were at least a dozen to choose from. I grabbed the Jet Magazine and threw it on the checkout belt. I had it for a couple of days before I even looked at it. I glanced through it Saturday afternoon. It will now be 1570 AM Great Oldies. The station will play a variety of oldies from the 60's, 70's with some songs in the 80's. Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom's Concert Series welcomes teen sensation Jesse McCartney on Tuesday, July 14th. He has toured with stars like Brittany Spears and has appeared on Disney's Hannah Montana and the Suite Life of Zack & Cody. The concert is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. The concert is free with your park admission. ...The hearing to determine the guardianship for Michael Jackson's kids has been pushed back a week. According to a court spokeswoman the hearing was granted at the request of Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson and the singer's ex-wife, Debbie Rowe. There's a lot of events going on this weekend. I hope the rain holds off because many of them will be held outdoors. We have the Forecastle Festival on the Belvedere, the Blues-n-Barbeque Festival at the Water Tower, and the Lebowski Fest on Phillips Lane (Next to the KY Expo Center). There's been some confusion on when teen superstar Miley Cyrus will be in Louisville for her concert at Freedom Hall. There's been two dates in October being tossed around in emails and text messages. Miley's concert in Louisville is October 31st (Halloween night). If you purchased tickets for the August 5th concert with Demi Lovato with special guest David Archuleta the concert has been cancelled. So, tickets holders can receive refunds at the point of purchase. An explanation was not given for the cancellation. ... The world has only seen Michael Jackson's children only a few times. At the end of the service Jackson's siblings and his children took to the stage to thank everyone. In a surprising move Jackson's daughter spoke. She talked about what a great father Michael was and that how much she was going to miss him. Martin Luther King III & Rev. Bernice King are now speaking about the life of Jackson and his legacy. There was some doubt that brother Jermaine Jackson would not perform. He just took the stage to sing "Smile". Today, Michael's brothers served as the pallbearers. In honor of their sibling they all wore his signature glove. Jennifer Hudson participated in the service. You know it had to be hard for the star since she lost her immediate family due to tragedy. I always say that regardless of a situation Kentucky is somehow included. Today, in the service NBA legend Magic Johnson talked about his first real conversation with the pop icon. They sat down to break bread in Michael Jackson's home. They had Kentucky Fried Chicken for dinner. Tonight, "That's So Raven" and "The Cosby Show" star Raven-Symoné, will be in concert tonight at the Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. The concert is free with adsmission into the park. The concert starts at 5:30 p.m.
ABC will broadcast the memorial service for Michael Jackson live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. That coverage will begin at 1 p.m. At 9 p.m. there will be a special edition of 20/20 hosted by Louisville's own Diane Sawyer and Barbara Walters. Then at 10 p.m. Primetime will do a special on "Family Secrets". The one hour special will talk about the possible custody battle for Jackson's three children. Sawyer and E... When I saw an email from the Justice Resource Center saying they were going to remember him today it finally dawned on me its been a whole year. I just learned that ABC will broadcast Michael Jackson's memorial. Live coverage will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kingdom Fellowship C.L.C and the Life Development Corporation present LiFest! '09. On Saturday, August 8th from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Kingdom Fellowship C.L.C. at 4605 Poplar Level Road. LiFest!
