Looking for something fun for the whole family? A free concert is going on this weekend that is educational as well as entertaining. Here is a press release from Jefferson County Public Schools.
Jefferson County Public Schools Early Childhood Education students and their parents will be treated to a free concert by recording artist David Kisor who is launching new educational CD's for elementary and preschool age children.
Kisor's songs are used in JCPS Early Childhood Classrooms to help promote the social/emotional development of children. Students from 25 schools and program sites are invited to attend.
Kisor's work is funded through the district's Care for Kids initiative. His songs use music as a teaching tool for young children. Students learn songs such as "I can do it" and "I can settle down." The concert and the CD's support parents in reinforcing the skills/songs being learned in the classroom.
