I know that with the very words "fantasy baseball," some 90% of the WHAS11.com readership has evaporated. Like any hobby, those outside of it often have a difficult time comprehending why people would devote any time to it.

To me, our league -- which uses a points system week to week -- has built some friendships and sustained others. It's given a competitive and harmless outlet for a bunch of baseball fans and provided a meaningful distraction from some of the stresses of everyday life.
