He's Cool!

7:17 AM Thu, Jan 22, 2009 |

It's not often that my kids want to talk politics, until now. I knew the political tide had turned when my older son who's 13, watched the Inaugural Balls with me. That in itself was a stunner --- but when he watched President Barack Obama dancing, he grinned and said to me, "He's Cool."

If You Had Five Minutes What Would You Say?

9:00 PM Tue, Jan 20, 2009 |

Tonight, we will celebrate but tomorrow its time to get to work.
I have been getting a lot of verbal reaction from viewers. Some say if they had an opportunity to talk to the President they would ask "When did you pinch yourself to see if this was really happening." Another person wants to know "Why would you want a job that has a lot of problems and if you don't turn them around you will be blamed as well."

Mr. President Can I Have Five Minutes?

6:38 PM Tue, Jan 20, 2009 |

Mr. President Can I Have Five Minutes?
I had the great opportunity to interview the presidential candidate. Can you believe it that a few months later the nation or should I say the world will now call him President Obama. Today, symbolizes so many different things for so many different people.
The woman beside the man really glowed today. Critics were so worried about what she was going to wear. As a member of the first ...

If you didn't voted for Obama.....

5:08 PM Fri, Jan 16, 2009 |

Most Kentuckians did not vote for Barack Obama. If you are one of them, we'd like to hear your thoughts as inauguration day approaches. Do you support him now? Wish him the best? How optimistic or pessimistic are you about his ability to lead, especially with the challenges he is about to inherit?

Send your e-mails to joe.arnold@whas11.com OR leave a message on Joe's voice mail which can be used on the air, 582-7203.

Ford adding 400 jobs at Kentucky Truck Plant

5:45 PM Tue, Jan 13, 2009 |

With the addition of the Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition large SUV's to the Kentucky Truck Plant in eastern Jefferson County, 400 workers from the Louisville Assembly Plant on Fern Valley Road will need to transfer to KTP. With LAP workers on rotating layoffs every other week, it would seem that such a transfer would be a slam dunk, but not everyone I spoke to at Local 862 today was ready.

With the auto industry in turmoil and w...

Mortgage Help

4:49 PM Fri, Jan 09, 2009 |

Today I had a crash course in mortgage modifications. A friend of mine told me about
this and how it helped her. If you've lost your job, there is help available if you're in a pinch. Here are some of the answers to the questions I had about modifications.

1. How is a modification different than refinancing?

When you refinance you take out an entirely new loan to lower your monthly payments. Getting the loan is...

What A Day

10:00 PM Tue, Jan 06, 2009 |

The night after Barack Obama was elected I heard countless people say they were going to the Inauguration. It seemed like everyone was ready to hop on the bus to the Capitol. I just knew as we got closer to the actual date reality would set in and people would start tallying up their finances and decide against a big trip so soon after Christmas. But the enthusiasm hasn't waned and Kentuckiana residents are still ready to hop on the bus. >> Continue reading: What A Day
