Palin by Comparison

11:07 PM Sat, Aug 30, 2008 |

I had an inkling that John McCain was going to pick a woman running mate, but Sarah Palin was not the first name that came to mind. Now that she is his running mate, I had to ask myself, would I have been less surprised if McCain had chosen a maverick MALE governor of a state?

A FUEL RANT

4:32 PM Fri, Aug 29, 2008 |

Welcome everyone to Labor Day Weekend. It's the time of year when we take a break and hit the sales. Furniture is on sale, clothing is discounted, even cars are marked down --- but not gasoline. No, No. We couldn't possibly get a break there.

And The Winner Is....

3:33 PM Fri, Aug 29, 2008 |

It's usually tough to call the UofL/UK game, especially since it's the season opener. So many new faces on both sides. I don't feel totally confident in my selection. But here it is..

On offense, obviously you have to give a major QB edge to UofL. Hunter Cantwell has shown he can get it done. He's already gone through the jitters of his first few starts. Some think he has more pro potential than Brian Brohm. Mike Hartline may very well...

Home Economics

2:33 PM Fri, Aug 29, 2008 |

As I warned in my live report this past week, real estate agents do not like when the media reports on slumping home sales, saying that it aggravates people's fears not to pull the trigger on a home sale, even if they are in a position to move ahead.

I Kissed A Pig

1:00 PM Wed, Aug 27, 2008 |

Yes, I kissed a pig. And truth be told, it really wasn't that bad. Come to think of it, I've probably kissed worse things over the years. Puckering up to smooch Fred at the Kentucky State Fair didn't have me seeing stars and singing "Oh My Darlin", but it wasn't disgraceful either. Even with my wife a kiss like that would cost me dinner and a bottle of wine. Fred laid one on me for free.

Pardon the CAPS, this is the script we just filed for broadcast....

Freedom isn't free

10:06 PM Tue, Aug 12, 2008 |

Standing in front of Madison High School about an hour after Spc. Jonathan Menke's hearse had passed in front of it, I just had to be silent for a moment to digest just how young he was. What a sacrifice.

The 44th Annual Ohio Valley Emmy Awards are Saturday night in Cincinnati. Louisville is part of this chapter which includes thirteen markets from four states. I used to think these awards were a waste of time.... until I got nominated.

10:37 AM Tue, Aug 05, 2008 |

As I am in my last week of interning with WHAS, I decided to write down some reflections on my experiences here. I have certainly done and seen alot worth mentioning, but I'll attempt to keep this as focused as possible.

The Weighting Game

4:43 PM Sun, Aug 03, 2008 |

My dear co-worker and friend Rachel Platt often says she would rather tell her age than weight. I am about to do both. I rarely reveal my weight to anyone. I don't even have a scale in my home. But recently little elves keep going in my closet and adjusting my clothes so they don't fit. In actuality I just had a baby and the weight isn't coming off as fast as I'd like. So I am asking for your help.

Let's take part in a fitness ch...
