I knew I was dealing with the real thing when I arrived in Bowling Green to interview the twin, 24 year old brothers who are the masterminds behind the technology inside ABC's Extreme Makeover Home in Louisville. That's because when we drove around Bowling Green, we followed Clinton Mills in his new Corvette! The car that put Bowling Green on the map (the late Johnny Carson loved them). Clinton and his brother Chris know how to support their community.
(and yes ladies, they both have steady girlfriends!)
They've become very successful after founding www.hitcents.com, their internet company in 1999. They put their first creations in the home their father was building 3 years ago. He's a GM executive. And he was the guinea pig. Clinton told me, "We started controlling his lights, TV's and all the different components through one computer."
In Patrick's home, they created their first ever voice activated system. Patrick can move around and speak into a microphone, a GPS system tells him where he is in his home. He can (or anyone else in the home) can ask a door to open and it does. He can change radio stations and TV channels by voice. One TV lowers from the ceiling. They normally have 6 months to install this. ABC gave them 3 weeks. And, it all worked when the cameras were rolling for the final taping. Now that's pressure. I hope you enjoyed our stories about this great project for Patrick and these uniquely talented entrepreneurs who have made Kentucky their full time home. It's great to keep sharp young people in our state. They are expanding and hiring people, and are tremendous supporters of Western Kentucky University and the city of Bowling Green.

I am disappointed on putting a toll on the bridges project.Where is the common sense? The reason to build a bridge was to relieve traffic at I-65. Kentucky puts a toll on the new bridge and the toll booths backs up the traffic what have the people who drive across the bridge gain.
Drivers will sit in traffic to pay a toll or sit in traffic because of the amount of traffic. If we build only one in the East end and save a huge amount of money That way there is money to use on other projects the people don't use or need
I just finished watching extreme makeover home edition. I call it my Sunday Night Cry, tonights telecast by far was the most touching and heart wrenching story to date. God Bless the Hughs family, and especially Patrick. The song he sung at the end....well I'm still crying.. God Bless Exteme Makeover Home Edition and everyone involved in making this touching story a dream come true for this very deserving family.
