We'll have to see what happens after Thursday's protest (9/27). Check out my story about Corey Nett, the Louisville man with cerebral palsy who claims that the Bristol Bar and Grille on Bardstown Road asked him to "move to the back, or leave," because his voice was bothering other patrons. The story ran Monday, 9/17, and Thursday 9/27, (I mistakenly thought it was 9/20 originally), some people are planning to protest outside the Bristol on this its 30th anniversary. I spoke briefly with a Bristol exec on Monday who would only say that he was "familiar" with the incident, but was not aware that a lawsuit had been filed. I tried calling him several times Monday and even stopped by the main office, hoping I could get the other side of the story. Calls to the Bristol's attorney also weren't returned. And, that's too bad, because it's a Louisville institution with great food and a good record of helping charities. It's certainly up to the Bristol how they want to handle their press, but I've always found the more up front you are in these situations, the better off you are in the long haul. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

Do you have the name of the attorney who filed the lawsuit? A similar type of incident happened to a disabled person I know, but at a different establishment. It's sad to think that with all the legal protections in place for people with disabilities that so many people are still so insensitive to others.
