An Ohio newspaper quotes the mayor of Avon Lake, Ohio as saying that Ford is considering three cities for a plant expansion , including Louisville. Ford dismisses it as speculation.

The Avon Lake mayor is running for re-election.

Here's what the WHAS11 assignment desk found out from Ford:

(Spokesperson) Anne-Marie (Gattari) from Ford called back. She says that there is no truth to the Avon Lake Story.

She said:
"The Mayor of Avon Lake is speculating. Everything that we've had to say about our plants with regard to plant actions and the way forward plan, we've already said. There is no new news on that front. The Mayor is speculating. Ford has made no new announcements."

So she claims that there have been no announcements regarding finalists for this line, and furthermore that Ford was not even contacted for this article. It was completely based off of the Mayor's speculations.
