Investigation: Jeffersontown Police Chief Rick Sanders tells me he met, as scheduled, with Commonwealth Attorney Dave Stengel on Friday, July 27. He says they reviewed evidence in the case but did not, as Stengel had hoped, set a date for a grand jury. The very fact that Sanders is talking grand jury might be significant, as Stengel is personally reviewing the case and has the power to dismiss it outright without presenting it to a grand jury. Darren Pickerill: Darren's fiance, Toby Kubas, tells me he has a repeat bout with pneumonia, but that his fever has subsided. That might clear the way for doctors to put the shunt he permanently needs in his head. You can refer to my prior blog entry for a better idea of the tremendous challenges ahead. Suffice to say, Pickerill's family has come to terms with the fact that his brain damage means physical and mental impairments. I'll keep you posted as I learn more. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

Ok I am about sick of this and WHY HASN'T THIS RETIRED POLICE OFFICER BEEN CHARGED YET! Why don't they put HE and his wife, whose stories are continually being MODIFIED, on a lie detector and see what's really going on? I bet neither one would consent to this. The man should be in jail and his wife should be right behind him if found she MODIFIED her responses to fit her husbands story.
