This is my first entry for the summer. Up to this point, I have been able to see and in some cases practice most of the jobs the sports department has. I have now worked here four weeks and have become accustomed to how things are run. For my first few shifts of the internship, I was only given small tasks to do, like minor editing and logging tapes, or helping out at an event. But for me, this was very good because I needed experience in tape-to-tape editing, and by the end of my first week, I felt I had become comfortable with the editing machine. Over the course of the next three weeks, I have been allowed to practice shooting, write a practice package using footage from the Dew Action Sports Tour. I was also allowed to go to the State Softball Tournament by myself to cover that. For the last two weeks, I have went on-set and performed a mock sportscast from the one Kyle Draper does at 6PM. This is really giving me a great ammount of experience and practice. Hopefully, things will continue this way for the next two months. Bryan Hash, summer intern |
