What are you doing to save on your energy bill?
Recently we showed you ways to save around the house.
Ideas like; drying loads of laundry one right after the other so that the dryer doesn't have to re heat in between. We should you how using Cold Water detergents will save you at least 55 dollars a year on your heating bill.
Are there other ideas you would like to share?
And do you think the little things you do really make a difference?
Has anyone compared their bills doing the money saving ideas we talk about compared to before?

I do the usual things like lower the thermostat, make sure all doors are completely closed reduse drafts under doors etc. I know that the heat will still run and cost money so I try to conserve electricity to make up some of the difference. I didn't realize that my computer used a lot of electricity, so I now turn it off at night. Also phone chargers plugged in drain electricity even when your phone isn't being charged.

I would like to know what is being done to regulate the charges that are being applied to residents of Louisville by LG&E. Jumping prices by 60%? Are they also raising salaries by that much to compensate? (I think not!)

Kirby i really do not see anything helping save on heating bills, they will charge what they want regardless. I don't know what our elderly or people on fixed incomes will do. I don't think they care as long as they get paid.
