Recently in Charles Boney trial CategoryCarl Colvin began testimony that in 2003 he met with Boney to discuss buying Boney's TV. Colvin says Boney got into an argument on the phone and told the caller, "I've already got three bodies on my conscience. One more isn't going to matter." Jury has taken a break. Trial has resumed -- Colvin is talking about Zager contacting him for interview then deciding to go to prosecutors --Jenny McLendon ...Gary Gilbert with ISP is testifying about fourth interview with Boney in March 2005. Kim Camm's shoes entered as evidence. Boney admitted to touching them at scene. --Jenny McLendon ...Diane Tolliver on stand now. She is a forensic document analyst with ISP. She looked at the seven scratched outlines of Boney's written statement from March. Who's up today: Gary Gilbert of Indiana State Police who testifed the first day. Then Lynn Scamahorn of ISP lab, John Singleton who will talk about the palm print, then Paul Misner of ISP lab who matched the sweatshirt DNA to Boney. Side note, Boney came into the courtroom a few minutes before 9:00 wearing an eyepatch and has bruises on his head. He stopped to talk to his mother and said Henderson offered him a deal last night but... Henderson just came by and said he did not offer any deal. He says Boney is ''losing it.'. ...Scamahorn testifes about a pair of white socks found in the trash can of kitchen. She found no DNA to test. Some stains were presumed to be blood but there was no usable DNA. There was no semen either. She was asked to test them on Nov 8. Report was complete on Jan 4. This must be the same thing Liell talked about this week. Now on the stand is Bill Chapin,a senior research microscopist with a Chicago firm. Henderson says he will discuss the tissue deposit on Camm's T-shirt. He took the stand at 3:48 p.m. The first witness was Greg Balmer who was Floyd County coroner in 2000. He is now the chief deputy coroner. He testified for about five minutes about the sweatshirt. Then Sgt. Sammy Sarkinsian from Indiana State Police took the stand. He is an evidence technician. Henderson re-showed some crime-scene photos and autopsy pictures to show where the sweatshirt was. The jury asked Sarkisian two questions: First, whether he tried to switch on ... Sgt. Dean Marks took the stand to testify about blood spatter on T-shirt. It started at 1:58pm. He said the T-shirt had to have been within three to four feet of Jill when she was shot. He designed four experiments to see if those tiny-sized stains - 1 millimeter or less - could be transferred through contact. He could not replicate exactly the stains. The experiment didn't penetrate the weave of the fabric but instead stayed on top of we... Sgt. Jeff Franklin testified after lunch. Boney's sweatshirt was entered into evidence over the objections of Renn. I thibk he's setting up an argument that there was so clear chain of custody for the sweatshirt, because it wasn't officially collected at the scene but at Brad's autopsy. Also Lynn Scamahorn just finished testifying about the blood stains on Camm's T-shirt. No mention of DNA on Boney's shirt yet but she will come back to tes... |
