Some of the highlights from practice and locker room interviews Wednesday:

Guard Keydrick Vincent and defensive end Charles Johnson scrapped during practice. They went toe to toe for a good bit before ending up on the ground.

Afterwards in the locker room, absolutely no tension was noticeable. For me, it's good to see. If you practice with that edge and chip on your shoulder, you'll play with it that way on Sunday and the Panthers need to do that in Atlanta.

Jake Delhomme says all the right things today, and he admits that he let his emotions take over at times during the Eagles loss. Jake has obviously taken a long look at his performance from every angle and he states simply today that he knows he has to do better.

All of Jake's teammates that we talked to today stand behind their man. Na'il Diggs said flatly, "We know Jake is our quarterback and our leader." This is NOT a team divided.

New QB A.J. Feeley told me that it will take him "about 2 weeks" to get ready to run Carolina's offense. He went on to say that given that timetable, when it's time to play, it's time to play.
Feeley obviously understands his role -- be ready when called upon, but there's no doubt he's here as a backup.

Players not practicing today: RB Jonathan Stewart, S Chris Harris, DT Nick Hayden, DB Sherrod Martin.
