WCNC Weather

After a week on the road plus some really long days and nights, I was sure I'd be ready to finally get back to a "regular" routine.

Actually, this experience has been so much fun, I'm ready to go another week or two!!! Just kidding! It was good fun, but at the same time, I think the whole "road crew" was looking forward to some rest.

I know that our "Where in the World" photographer, Jennifer Schnabel, deserves a week-off. She's done the work of at least three; she scouted the locations, shot and edited all the pre-taped video, and was there everyday to do all the camera-work. Oh yes, she had to put up with my crazy way of doing "live TV," which means I sometimes change our plans in the last seconds before we're on the air. At least, she should be given free passes to all of the locations we visited. Yeah, I'm going to suggest that to the bosses.

I think I'll start with the really, really big boss in Dallas, Texas (our corporate headquarters) and then work all the way down to, maybe our Executive Producer, Allison Andrews. She also did an incredible amount of work on this project. By the way, Allison is the one who signed-up Jennifer and me to "hit the road". Of course she'll approve my request!!!

Before I close-out this blog, I want to thank "Captain" Nancy Bedgood (yes, that's her real name!) for allowing us to take over her beautiful 75-foot houseboat, the "Light'n'Up". When you say "house boat", this one is it: three beds, a den, nice kitchen, dining area, two bathrooms, and a giant garden tub!!! On top is a giant deck for dining, parties, dancing, or... fishing. At least, that's where I put a pole in the water! Thanks also to "T-Bones on the Lake" for allowing us to use their dock all morning. Thanks also to pro fisherman Parks Jones, Mark Mathison from the Lake Wylie Yacht Club, First Mate Dave, sportboat captain Tony Wallace, and good friend Jeff Reid. Jeff provided all the background music on keyboards and vocals plus nice acoustic guitar at the end of the show Friday.

What a day! What a week!!!
