I have yet another story for you about me and my deep and abiding love for birds… cough. The little creeps are nesting all over my property. But this hardly seems like the time for my bird follies.
Instead of spending 5 or 10 minutes reading my nonsensical ramblings that would have been posted here, if you would, take a quiet moment wherever you are and use this time to say a prayer, think a positive thought, send a good vibe (whichever one doesn’t offend you) to the kids and the families of Virginia Tech University.
Think of all the parents getting that phone call. The brothers and sisters. The dear friends. It’s just too hard to believe. They will move on some day but they’ll likely never get over this. Hold these folks in your hearts and minds.
Along with our web site, there are others carrying great information on this sad event. One is the independent student newspaper at VaTech: www.collegemedia.com. The student journalists are doing an amazing job trying to capture and tell this story for us all.
Talk to you next Tuesday,

May God Bless and keep all the families, friends, students and faculty of VA Tech. You are in my heart and my prayers. I grieve with you.
Being a parent I feel so deeply for the VT families. I pray for my children every day but today I prayed for the children at VT. Maybe all parents should pray daily not only for their own children but for all of the children around us. God Bless Hokie Nation. My thoughts and many prayers are being lifted up on your behalf. God Bless us all.
And, your last posting was so negative - so moody. Here's something to add to the somberness - senseless killings. I know people throughout history have looked at their recent events and deemed them so horrific as to proclaim "the end is near." Thank God I know that God has it all under control - He knows the outcome and we do, too (the Bible is indeed a good book.) Wars, natural disasters, crazy people killing not only the ones they claim to love, but complete strangers... If it wasn't for my faith, I'd totally lose hope. Thanks for your blogs and your lovely Carolina Traveler - you bring that ray of sunshine - that glimmer of hope in mankind to our homes through our tvs. Thanks!
