Questions about pedicures. More questions about haircuts. And players sleeping on the floor during the interview sessions. Welcome to the pressure packed Sweet 16 in New Jersey.

Both the Tar Heels and the Trojans seemed like they were talking one day before a great game of pickup hoops at the park. That’s not the way Roy Williams looks at it, but that’s exactly what Tim Floyd’s looking for.

Make no mistake, I’ve covered Floyd’s teams at Iowa State. I know that SC will show up and play tough, smothering defense. But Floyd wants his team loose, and they are just that.

He spent all of two minutes on the floor with his team Thursday at open practice. The message is clear: Let’s play loose and have fun. It will be interesting to see what pressure develops during the game.

Talk all you want, but at some point pressure shows up in the NCAA tournament. The team that can forget it and just play basketball (think Tyler Hansbrough) will move into the Elite Eight.
