Who had game in 2006-07? Check out the players who lived up to expectations with phenomenal performances.

ACC All-phenom team

These future NBA Lottery picks make up the All-ACC Team. They put up monster numbers on a regular basis and are the reason the ACC is the toughest conference.

Tyler Hansbrough, UNC- 18 points per game; 8 rebounds
I was unstoppable against- Duke 26 points per game, 17 rebounds.
“Psycho T” showed he is still the man on this freshman fab UNC team. Opponents seem to know that too and that’s why defenses are still focused on him. But being the target of every defense didn’t stop Hansbrough from pulling eight double-doubles on the season.

Al Thornton, FSU- 20 points per game; 7 rebounds
I was unstoppable against- (Everyone) but my 45 points on Miami sticks out.
Al Thornton leads the ACC in scoring and even though Florida State finished below .500 in the conference, it’s not because Thornton was slacking. This monster forward had five huge double-doubles, including 30 points and 10 rebounds against Virginia, 29 points and 11 rebounds against UNC and 23 points and 15 rebounds against Maryland.

Jared Dudley, BC- 19 points per game; 8.5 rebounds
I was unstoppable against- Michigan State with 30 points and Virginia Tech with 30 points.
The team lost two key players to suspension, so Dudley put the team on his back to nearly finish first in the ACC, earning him conference player of the year. Dudley leads the ACC in rebounding and is second in scoring. His 10 double-doubles made believers out of those who doubted he could replace Craig Smith. Oh yeah, and he missed three games due to injury.

Zabian Dowdell, VT- 18 points per game
I was unstoppable against- UNC 33 points and Miami 30 points.
Dowdell got the job done on both ends of the court. Finishing second in steals earned him a spot on the ACC All-Defensive team. Dowdell has turned Virginia Tech into an ACC powerhouse. He’s made his senior season one to remember by leading VT to the NCAA tournament and finishing third in the ACC.

Sean Singletary, Virginia- 18 points per game; 4.6 assists
I was unstoppable against- Gonzaga with 37 points and American with 33 points.
He’s the toughest guard in the conference, maybe the nation. Singletary has resurrected Virginia from the ACC grave. When he went to Virginia, there seemed to be no hope, but he’s had the attitude of being that hope. He’s survived a coaching change and has been the leader since his freshman year.

ACC All-playmaker team

These guys always seemed to come through with big plays when their team needed it most.

J.R. Reynolds, Virginia- 18 points per game
I was unstoppable against- Wake Forest with 40 points.
Reynolds rivals Dowdell as the best 2-guard in the ACC. This senior will go out in style and he'll be remembered as one of the players who resurrected Virginia basketball. (Ralph Sampson and Bryant Stith would be proud.)

Deron Washington, VT- 11 points per game; 5 rebounds
I’ll never forget- My game saving block against Duke.
He’s biggest weakness is foul trouble. In 15 games Washington was either in foul trouble or fouled out. But when he’s on the court he’s a handful: ready to dive for a loose ball or dunk on anyone. His game is pure excitement as he plays above the rim. Washington’s hurdle over Greg Paulus dropped everyone’s jaw.

Josh McRoberts, Duke- 12 points per game; 7 rebounds; 3 assists; 2 blocks
I’ll never forget- How much I had to help bring the ball up the court.
McRoberts does a little bit of everything: score, pass, rebound, block shots, and lead the fast break. The sophomore recorded six double-doubles and earned a spot on the All-Defensive team. People can criticize him all they want, but at the end of the day Duke still has 22 wins, is still ranked top 25, is still going dancing, and McRoberts is the main reason.

D.J. Strawberry, Maryland- 15 points per game
I’ll never forget- Beating UNC, Duke, NCST, and WF in the same season.
Strawberry has developed into one of the most complete guards in the ACC. On defense he recorded three games with five or more steals, which put him on the All-Defensive team. He’s stepped up as the team leader and has Maryland headed back to the NCAA Tournament.

Sean Marshall, BC- 14 points per game; 4 rebounds
I’ll never forget- My game winner over Florida St when I HIT A THREE-POINT BUZZER BEATER OVER THREE DEFENDERS. Oh sorry, I get carried away when I think about it.
This shooting guard recorded three double-doubles of 30 points, 10 rebounds; 23 points 14 rebounds and 22 points 10 rebounds.

Jamon Gordon, VT- 11 points per game; 4 rebounds; 4 assists; 2.5 steals
I’ll never forget- My near triple double against Seton Hall: 22 points, 7 steals and 8 rebounds.
Gordon lead the ACC in steals which earned him Defensive Player of the Year.

ACC future phenoms team

These five freshmen and one transfer showed flashes of brilliance, and shows the ACC may be even tougher next season.

Brandon Costner, NC State-16 points per game; 7 rebounds
I was unstoppable against- UNC-Wilmington: 27 points and 19 rebounds.
This freshman recorded seven double-doubles and gives NC State fans a reason to be excited about next year.

Brandon Wright, UNC- 14 points per game; 6 rebounds
Wright is the ACC Rookie of the Year. The deep UNC rotation keeps him from going bananas on defense.

Ishmael Smith, Wake Forest- 8 points per game; 5.8 assists
This freshman led the ACC in assists. Smith is a stat sheet stuffer recording two games with near triple-doubles against ACC opponents.

Ty Lawson, UNC- 10 points per game; 5 assists
This speedy freshman was second in assist/turnover ratio. Lawson could score 20 points a game if he wasn’t surrounded by four other teammates that can score 20 points a game.

Javaris Crittenton, Georgia Tech- 14 points per game; 5.7 assists
I was unstoppable against- Florida State 29 points and 5 rebounds
This freshman gets the job done of both ends of the court recording three double-doubles and a game high seven steals. A little too much “mister nice guy” though. If Crittenton had the killer instinct of Kenny Anderson, Georgia Tech would be the most dangerous team in the country.

Jack McClinton, Miami- 16 points per game
I was unstoppable against- Florida State with 31 points and Northwestern with 30 points.
His game didn’t show up on the radar because Miami is struggling, but McClinton is slowly elbowing his way into the class of elite guards.
