‘American Idol’ contestant Kellie Pickler co-hosted ‘The View’ Monday and the Albemarle native revealed a few things about her personal life.
The show opened to warm applause from the studio audience and Barbara Walters said to Picker, “I think they like you.”
“It’s crazy to think people are actually interested in you,” replied Pickler.
The 20-year-old is currently touring with the top 10 idols and a show is scheduled in Charlotte at Bobcats Arena Aug. 1.
Pickler said on the show that recently signed a record contract with Sony BMG in Nashville. She said her single will be released at the end of September and her album, which has yet to be titled, will be out Nov. 14.
Pickler said she wants to stick with her country roots and wants to sing country music “all the way.”
Pickler said she’s in the studio recording when she’s not on the road with the ‘American Idol’ tour.
Pickler blushed and was all smiles when Walters asked about her new boyfriend. “We actually dated before I auditioned for ‘Idol’ and we took a little bit of a break so we could kind of try to figure out what we were going to do with our lives and we just got reunited.”
Pickler said her boyfriend went to school to be a police officer, but is currently installing garage doors.
“The best garage door installer ever,” she says while laughing.
