Albemarle’s ‘American Idol’ contestant Kellie Pickler appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno Wednesday night as a correspondent for the MTV Video Music Awards.
She was on the red carpet talking to celebrities like Will Ferrell, Sandra Bullock, Justin Timberlake and Steve Carell.
It starts with Kellie yelling hey to Zach Braff from NBC’s Scrubs. It’s funny that he recognizes her without an introduction. In fact, he introduces himself to her.
“Kellie Pickler! Nice to meet you.”

After talking to Christina Aguilera about what she is wearing Pickler comments, “She has a tattoo on her butt or something. Something’s on there. I wonder if she knows.”

She gets Justin Timberlake to come talk to her by shouting, “Hey, come here.”
Justin looks into the camera and tells Jay Leno, “Take it easy on the girl. She’s a cutie.”
Kellie: Justin just said I was a cutie. I’m like melting here.
Justin: It’s hot
Kellie: You’re hot
Justin: You’re hot
Kellie: Am I? Oh my gah
And I had to laugh at her interview with Steve Carell from 40-Year-Old Virgin.
Kellie: It’s Kellie Pickler from the Tonight show.
Carell: You don’t have to introduce yourself. I know who you are.
They go into a little bit together and then she asks, “So are you still a virgin?”
Carell: Yes, but maybe. No! No I’m not going to do that with Kellie Pickler!!
Later Sandra Bullock comes up and tells Kellie she should do comedy. “You are hysterical,” she said.
And of course, Will Ferrell hammed it up for the camera and I thought this was the funniest bit. Kellie gets a group hug from Will and John C. Reilly.
Will is wearing a racing suit. “I’m sweating bullets in here.”
And in true Pickler fashion, Kellie says, “Me too. I’m sweating so bad I need to wipe my armpits off.”
So John wipes his glove on Kellie’s pits and Will dabs a make-up pad under her arms and then onto her face.
Then Will wipes his face with the pad. “I need a little bit of that magic on my face.”
“Oh my gah, Will Ferrell just wiped my armpits.”
Overall I think Kellie did a great job. I’m a fan of her from ‘American Idol’ and while at times I feel she goes a little too far with her antics, this time she was great. I think the segment was very entertaining.
I just got off the phone with an employee at the Tonight Show and she confirmed Kellie’s appearance. Kellie will be a special correspondent at the MTV Movie Awards.
The Tonight Show airs at 11:30 p.m. on WCNC-TV.

I heard John Snyder say something about Kellie and the Tonight Show but didn't catch all the particulars. Has she actually been hired by the company that produces the tonight show or is this a one time tryout deal. I like that country sounding acscent she has.
She was HILARIOUS! You must watch the video if you didn't see it.
Regarding the Kellie Pickler 6/7/06 TONIGHT SHOW appearance...She was easily the most enjoyable and entertaining guest the entire evening. She is a natural talent and someone definitely needs to sign her up (and fast!) before someone else does and makes multimillions for doing it. She would be excellent as a TV comedy/sitcom star and that is not even mentioning the fact that, with the proper song in hand, she also would score highly on the Country & Western music charts. Rarely do we see someone who is a natural, like she is, who even manages to get top level performers, such as Sandra Bullock, complimenting her abilities. Kellie is destined for greatness--but don't just take my word for it. That was her second appearance on THE TONIGHT SHOW and JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE thinks equally, as well, since he had her on too and had nothing but great words to say about her. I wish her the best...and just hope that either a record company or some greedy manager doesn't step in and manage to somehow screw her career up. She deserves nothing less than topflight, professional representation.
She was a riot! I couldn't quit laughing; I think she's got a career ahead of her comedy. I hope Jay has her on his show again.
I thought Kellie Pickler was just great. I truly hope that she continues to do well which I know will make her very happy and secure.
Kellie was funny but there were some comments that I didn't think projected the person she claims to be. She claimed that she felt she was ready to leave American Idol because they were portraying her in a way that she didn't want to be seen. She claims that she prayed about it. I am not judging her I just hope that she remembers what she said about her faith and being a Christian and that she doesn't let the secular world change her views.

Kellie is a natural and can talk with *anyone* which makes her a shoo-in for correspondent for a major show, sitcom appearances, and so much more.
I've already emailed "Tonight Show" expressing my thoughts and asking them to please have Kellie back soon!
I could not agree anymore with everyone, that girl has IT, not just the IT, she has IT all, it was by far the Best Of the top of the head Red Carpet Interview I have ever seen, I will just say there is not 1 Line she says that I dont know off by heart already!! :=) Pickler Rocks, and that Peformance Was FANTASTIC ;+)

I absolutely love Kellie. She is a beautiful and funny, talented girl. She was great on American Idol and I was disappionted to see her go. But I think she has a long and bright future ahead of her. I'm looking forward to her first cd. She hurry someone, sign her up. Thanks to the great video you share with everyone.
Roland, I happen to agree with you. I was so happy to hear her say that she is a Christian and that her father has turned his life around. I am a bit disappointed by a few things she has said and done although I suppose it's nothing really. Is it true that her myspace is naughty minx? If it is, then I'm really disappointed. Also, is it true that she has a tattoo? I worry about her sometimes.
