EBay and online classifieds list tickets for sale most around $400 a piece. But with the click of a mouse, ticket seekers might be rolling the dice. Tom Bartholomy with the Better Business Bureau said the problem is you don't know until you get the ticket in your hand if it’s real and even then it can be hard to tell if it’s counterfeit. The BBB said if people go that route, they should ask the seller to establish an escrow account. That way he or she does not get the money until the buyers have the ticket in hand to inspect it. Bartholomy said to be sure to look for a hologram, which is next to impossible to counterfeit. The travel packages can also be a risk. It is a good idea to check a company's standings with the BBB. And it always helps to pay by credit card. That way if a dream road trip doesn't leave you cheering people can dispute the charge with their credit company. The BBB said if people want to play it safe they should buy their package from the Panthers or Broach Sports Tours. They each have about 15 to 20 packages left, but those are for travel and tickets together. As far as individual tickets, good luck finding those. |
