Seattle fans should be a concern for Panthers

Sports photographer, Tom Butler and myself arrived in Seattle late last night.

Now I say late last night becuase it was 11:15 p.m. on my Charlotte time but only 8:15 p.m. Seattle time. The number one thing I'm concerned about this week is getting this three hour time difference thing straight.

Of course it was drizzling rain when we arrived and we are anticipating rain every day while we are here, however, we are hearing that the sun may shine for Sunday's game. Could be a good omen for the Panthers as they have been blessed with great weather all season.

If memory serves me correctly, the every game the Panthers played at Bank of America Stadium this season it was sunny. Then when they travel to New York to face the Giants it was in the mid-40's and the same for their game last weekend in Chicago. Maybe it's a sign?

Speaking of signs, this city is fired up about the Seahawks. Qwest Stadium is a beautiful sight at night. We drove past it on our way to our hotel last night. All lit up in Seahawk colors. And as you can imagine saw plenty of Seahawk jerseys adorned by Seattle-ites downtown Seattle.

The Panthers not only have to concern themselves with the Seahawks themselves Sunday but a fan base that is starved for some success. It has been over 20 years since Seattle saw their team in a conference title game.

We're are heading to the Seahawks practice Thursday afternoon. We'll let you know what we found out on our newscasts plus check back for more blogging from Seattle Thursday.

Welcome to Seattle Chuck. I don't think Panther players and fans realize just how hungry the Seahawk players, owners, and fans are. It is this HUGE drive that will propel them to win this game. Seattle is starved. We have never experienced a sports team in a hunt for a Championship Title before. Sure we had the Sonics become the NBA Champions in the late 70's and the Mariners 116 game wins in 2001, but neither of these comes close to the desires of this team and fans. WE NEED THIS WIN! And since the Panthers have been there recently, I don't think they are as hungry as the Seahawks. This team will stop at nothing to achieve this end result. They really won't be happy until they WIN the Superbowl! This will be toughest game they have faced this year. It is going to be a game of epic proportions for both teams. This fan driven team will not fail in their quest. Their/our desire to be the best of the best. Enjoy the game. Enjoy the Quest Field. Enjoy the best Seattle has to offer. We hope you have a nice visit and don't go home to disappointed. Jeff

Jeez, dont you folks blog on the other side of the country? I've lived in seattle my whole life and we are as pumped for this team as we had for our 95 mariners, with good reason. Seattle hasn't had much success in postseason (all sports) and we are learning how to live with a successful football team. The fans feel part of this team (no other football team has retired a #12 for the fans) and qwest field will be rockin on sunday (it is the loudest field in the NFL). If your lucky you wont fasle-start 12 times like NY did earlier...and that wasnt even the postseason...enjoy the game.
