Panthers hit the practice field

The Panthers got back to work Wednesday after having their customary Tuesday off.

The Panthers practiced outside under sunny skies on their practice fields behind Bank of America Stadium. The media is only allowed to watch the first 10 minutes of practice, so unfortunately I don’t have any “skinny” on secret plays that coach Fox may be drawing up for Sunday’s meeting with the Giants.

The first 10 minutes of practice is usually set aside for stretching and various drills that don’t reveal any competitive secrets.

The one good sign we did see at practice Wednesday was that linebacker Dan Morgan was back in full practice gear after missing last Sunday’s regular season finale in Atlanta. With Morgan in the line-up, the Panthers defense seems to be a little bit better at stopping the run and they’ll need all the help they can get this Sunday with the resurgence this season of Giants running back Tiki Barber who rushed for 1,860 yards in the regular season and that total was added to last Sunday by 203 yards against the Raiders.
