Revolution player hospitalized after sustaining concussion

New England Revolution midfielder Pat Phelan suffered a concussion on Wednesday night in a collision with a teammate late in the Revolution's SuperLiga match with Pachuca at Gillette Stadium. He was momentarily unconscious, but regained consciousness before being stretchered off the field. He was taken by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was further evaluated.

Phelan is expected to be out of action for at least one week.
