Rams defeat Bay View, capture first D1 softball title

After nearly two decades – and 10 innings – La Salle Academy at long last has a state title.
The Rams, who also now get to hang their first division championship banner after grabbing a share of the regular-season title with Bay View, edged the defending champion Bengals, 2-1, in 10 innings en route to capturing the Amica Insurance Rhode Island Interscholastic League Division I Softball Championship today at Rhode Island College.
