Projo CeltsTalk with Bill Reynolds: A classic rivalry renewed
Press the play button below to hear Bill Reynolds' discuss the end of the Eastern Conference Finals and the coming Celtics-Lakers series. The topics: how winning on the road changes everything for Boston, Paul Pierce getting his due, the meaning of the Lakers-Celtics rivalry, and the Los Angeles version of the Big Three.
Here are some excerpts from Bill's comments:
On Pierce: "I've always felt a little bit sorry for Pierce. For all his celebrity and his points, in Boston unless you win titles you are just another guy. And in a sense we've watched him grow up. We've watched him change from a young, impetuous player who made a lot of mistakes to somebody who Friday night took that team on his back and carried them. He is one of the great all-time scorers in Celtics history, whether they win a title or not. It's great that people finally appreciate him."
On Lamar Odom: "Lamar Odom is a great complementary player, because as we know from here, he's 6 foot 10 and he's skilled, and he doesn't do anything great, but he does everything very well. So playing alongside of Kobe really brings out his strengths."
