| NBA FINALS IN-GAME: One game after Jackson complains about the refs, the Lakers parade to the foul line »
BY KEVIN McNAMARA LOS ANGELES -- The Bulls and Pistons both filled their vacant coaching positions, with Vinnie DelNegro and Michael Curry respectively. Neither owns extensive coaching background, or at least not as much as valued Celtics’ assistant Tom Thibodeau. He’s credited with owning the key defensive mind that’s helped the Celtics to great heights this season. Rivers clearly thinks Thibodeau at least deserves a look. He is obviously tied up with coaching the C’s and has not been available for many interviews. "Tom has been around this game for so long," said Rivers. "I just don't get it. I can understand when you hire someone else, that's fine. I just don't get the no interview part of it. It is what it is. It's not what I'm thinking about right now, if you want me to be honest. And neither is he, to his credit." |
