LOS ANGELES -- You wouldn't think the Celtics could repeat the first-quarter blues they suffered through in Game Four but that's happened tonight.
After falling behind 35-14 in Game Four, the Celts went down quick tonight, 39-22. The Lakers shot 65 percent in the quarter and Kobe Bryant is extremely aggressive. He was a facilitator early in Game Four and had just three points in the quarter. Last night, Bryant came out bombing and racked up four 3-pointers and 15 points in the opening frame.
The Celtics were 6-of-20 from the floor in the first quarter of Game Four and 8-of-20 last night in the first quarter.
The Celtics started Leon Powe in place of Kendrick Perkins but he was beaten early for rebounds and hoops by Pau Gasol and came out quickly. P.J. Brown wasn't much better in relief.
