On today's sports cover, Mike Szostak writes about the big-ticket acquisitions that changed everything for Paul Pierce and Kobe Bryant, two stars who not too long ago thought they might be leaving their teams. Bill Reynolds catches up with one who did leave: former PC star Ryan Gomes, whom the Celtics shipped off in the offseason as part of the Kevin Garnett deal.
