Former Brown quarterback and head coach Mark Whipple was hired yesterday by the Philadelphia Eagles as offensive assistant coach.
Whipple, a 1979 graduate of Brown, was the Bears starting quarterback from 1977-78 and was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996.
Whipple coached Brown from 1994-97 and led UMass to a Division I-AA national championship in 1998.
Whipple’s last coaching job was from 2004-06 where he was the quarterback coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
