Just a follow up on our earlier report about the traffic being so heavy heading to the course today for the third round of the Deutsche Bank Championship: The traffic is still backed up, but anyone who does not yet have a ticket will not be able to get in.
Because space is limited in many areas on the course, tickets are limited to 25,000 per day. Officials just distributed a release saying everything is sold out, not just for today but for tomorrow’s final round, as well.
On the course, scoring continues to be very low. Will McKenzie, one of those fighting to survive for round three of the FedEx Cup (he is in 74th place and only the top 70 go to Chicago next week), just posted a 65 to get to 6-under and into the top 20 as of now. But he is likely to fall a bit because so many are moving up on moving day.
Among others, Brad Bryant just posted a 5-under 31 on the front side to get to 8-under and within one of the lead. Lucas Glover is 5-under through seven holes to get to 8-under and Steve Stricker, the FedEx Cup leader, started birdie-birdie to jump into the tie at 8-under.
Tiger Woods parred the first hole and birdied the second to stand at 7-under. Woods missed a 13-foot eagle putt on the par-5 second.
``It’s playing pretty easy right now, much easier than it has all week’’ McKenzie said after posting his 65. ``The greens are a little softer and I played in the morning so the greens were just perfect.’’
