Tiverton golfer advances at U.S. Amateur
Wannamoisett's Charlie Blanchard, of Tiverton, has advanced to match play in the 107th U.S. Amateur golf championship at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. Blanchard completed second-round play this morning in the fog-delayed event and shot a 74 for a 144 total. He is tied for 25th place. The top 64 in the 315-player field qualify for match play. The second round is continuing today.
