Tiger Woods shares a laugh with members of his grouping as they play during the Deutsche Bank Championship's Pro-Am round today.
Tiger Woods, the world's most recognized athlete, is back at TPC Boston in Norton, Mass., to defend his championship in the Deutsche Bank Championship this weekend. Woods leads a field of 115 players in easily the best field in the event's history.
Woods will tee off Friday at 1:07 in a 3-some that includes Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh, perhaps the chief contenders for Tiger's number one world ranking over the last few years.
Woods met with the media an hour ago and addressed several issues. He says he's happy he took time off after winning the PGA Championship at Southern Hills and is refreshed for a busy stretch that'll see him play in four of the next five weeks. He also says his strategy is fairly simple when he decides when he does and does not play.
``If you're not ready to win, there's no point in playing,'' he said. ``When I play, I play to win.''
Here is the rest of Woods' interview. I'll have a story on Woods in Friday's Journal and on projo.com.
