PC Basketball Moving to WEEI
Providence College and Boston-based radio station WEEI announced this afternoon that PC Friar basketball games will be broadcast on the station beginning this season and continuing over the next five years.
PC's contract with WSKO (99.7-FM) had expired and the school chose to leave. Friar games have been on a Rhode Island-based station since Chris Clark began calling them in the late 1950's.
Every PC game will be heard on WEEI's 103.7-FM signal. That signal is a dominant one not only in Rhode Island but it also reaches into Connecticut and Southeastern Massachusetts. Accessing that powerful signal was a major, deciding factor for PC and its athletic director, Bob Driscoll.
