Buchholz impresses but PawSox lose
Pawtucket's rising star Clay Buchholz pitched 6 1/3 strong innings against Buffalo, striking out nine with no walks while scattering five hits and allowing two runs but he did not factor in the decision. The score was 2-2 when he left the game.
When the dust settled, Buffalo escaped with a 3-2, 10 inning victory. Jason Cooper belted a two-out double down the left field line for Bufalo and Pawtucket left-fielder Bobby Scales (2-for-4, 2 doubles, walk, run scored) misplayed the ball. Mike Rose scored all the way from first base on the error. Read Rob Lee's game story on projo.com's SoxBlog.
