KG Deal Complete
The Celtics will hold a press conference later this afternoon to formally announce the acquisition of all-star center Kevin Garnett.
Boston will give up former PC star Ryan Gomes, Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair and Theo Ratliff, as well as two undiclosed first round draft picks. In return, the Celts will get the best player to play for the franchise since Larry Bird retired. Garnett is a 10-time all-star and the 2004 MVP. Along with Paul Pierce and the newly acquired Ray Allen, Garnett gives the Celtics a threesome that will be the envy of every team in the NBA's Eastern Conference.
The Celtics spent this morning finalizing a contract extension for Garnett, who is owed $22 million this season. Reports are that Garnett will get a three-year extension, keeping him in Boston for the next five seasons. He is 31 years old.

I am very disaappointed that Ainge sold the future of this team for what he thinks will be immediate gratification. I hope it is worth it...
