Revolution, Crew play to 3-3 tie

FOXBORO — Alejandro Moreno scored on a diving header in the 85th minute to help the Columbus Crew salvage a 3-3 tie with the New England Revolution on Saturday night in Major League Soccer.

Robbie Rogers and Guillermo Barros Schelotto had first-half goals for the Crew, 0-3-2 on the road this season and 1-4-6 overall.

Rookie striker Adam Cristman scored twice and Pat Noonan added a goal in the first half to help New England (5-2-4) take a 3-2 lead.

New England played without striker Taylor Twellman, midfielder Steve Ralston and defender Michael Parkhurst, all with the U.S. team that beat Panama 2-1 earlier Saturday in Foxborough in the Gold Cup quarterfinals. Columbus defender Frankie Hejduk also playing for the United States in the Gold Cup.
