Projo SoxTalk with McAdam: Time to get Lugo out of the leadoff spot
Sean McAdam, once again, is Art Martone's guest on projo SoxTalk. Go to the SoxBlog to listen to the full audio and read excerpts from the conversation. Sean and Art agree that the Red Sox need to get someone else in the leadoff hole, because Julio Lugo is not doing the job. Sean also talks about what the Red Sox might be able to get in a J.C. Romero trade, and why he sees little need to get Jon Lester to Boston real soon.

I have a question regarding yesterday's series finale in Arizona. It was the top of the 7th with Pedrioa on first and no outs with the pitcher due up next. For some reason Francona selected to pinch hit cora. Unless he was hurt, i just cannot see why you wouldnt pinch hit your best hitter (Ortiz) in such a crucial part of the ballgame. Instead Francona sacrafices Cora to get to Lugo and Crisp??? Am i missing something here? How on earth do you not pinch hit Ortiz in that spot? What the hell was he waiting for. Instead lets pinch hit him in a 4 run game in the 9th. Am i alone here or were others scratching there heads at that move?
